Huge confusion at UNESCO. There is no future for radio as a separate medium. It is part of a much wider media ecosystem and it’s influence really depends on which country you’re talking about. Will people go out and rediscover radio as a result of message from a DG? No. What strikes me is that everyone is talking about the role radio played in the past. Not about how specific radio services will change our future.
Congratulations to those who are immersed in the wonderful world of radio. This is a digital age does not neglect the field of radio broadcasting. The radio will always live in the hearts of hundreds of millions of listeners.
