Xenia Kalogeropoulou in Αριστοτέλειον

On Sunday 30 October at the Theatre Αριστοτέλειον welcomes Xenia Kalogeropoulou, the acclaimed author of the legendary children’s fairy tale “The Σκλαβί”. The author will follow along with the audience of the show, which occurs every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., directed by Dimitris Adamis.
The same notes for the work, which moves young and old : “I Wanted to write something that has nothing to do with the delivery, but may not be picturesque, folklore. It’s something deep Greek, however, through a sense of memory. “The Σκλαβί” is a highly enigmatic fairy tale and maybe this is exactly why it’s so charming. To make a project for children, a basic requirement is to have a level of simple and another more complex. This “model” here is much more clear”.
The project is based on the homonymous symi fairy tale, as this is included in the collection “Tales of our people,” edited by George Ioannou, as well as in the volume “The Φιδόδεντρο” has been edited by Kostas Καφαντάρης. Placed in a time where “the other countries were still distant, that the books I γραφαν by hand and that the days passed so quickly”.
Two children are born from the same father, who is also the king of the state. One of them is the rightful heir, the son of the queen, the other the child of a slave. Two kids who grow up with favorites and, however, separated by pronounced social difference. Some time love the same woman and become rivals, without, however, never collide. From this point begins the whole story, which raises many issues and works on so many levels. Distant lands, princes, atmosphere, a dream and a story-teller!
