Vaccination 200 refugee children in the Camp at Ritsona by the Greek Red Cross, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health

refugee children who are temporarily resident in a refugee camp in Ritsona.
A total of more than 200 refugee children, aged from 1 to 15 years of age received the MMR vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella, in order to provide the necessary protection for the above childhood diseases. The vaccines offered the Ministry of Health while the coordination of two-day of this action belonged to the Greek and the Spanish Red Cross, who provided the necessary medical and nursing staff.
The Hellenic Red Cross is present in the camp at Ritsona from the first day of operation, initially through the Regional Department of E.E.P. Chalkis, and then, with the development of Unit Emergency Response (ERUs) jointly with the Spanish Red Cross for the provision of basic health care. Also, the Red Cross has set up a special place, eco-friendly for children refugees, which organized games and other recreational activities. So the Unit of health care and the area of creative employment for children working seven days a week.
Finally, detachments of Greek Red Cross distribute on a regular basis of humanitarian material to its guests populations of the Centre, which includes food aid, bottled water, and other necessary items, like baby set, items of personal hygiene, mattresses, etc.
