It was announced the short list of emerging poets to the “Award Yannis Varveris” the Company of Writers. This award, which was established in… 2011 by the society of Authors in memory of the poet, and a member of Yannis Varveris (1955-2011), is intended to highlight the most important new poetic voices in the country.
However, this process has a particularity. In particular, while the choice of the poets included in the short list has been decided unanimously on 11 April by a three-member committee set up by the Company Authors and which was composed by Henry By, Niko Research and Niko ΔαββÎτα, the announcement is now made mandatory only by the two members of the committee (by Nikos Research and Niko ΔαββÎτα) who will eventually sign, and the rationale for the award of the prize. And this is why the third member, the chairman of the committee, a member of the board.P. of the Company and a close friend of Yannis Varveris, erricos belies, died on 19 April, plunging to the ineffable grief of their families, friends and colleagues in the Company of Writers.
Very emotional, expressing grief at the loss of his precious partner and their fancy friend, Henry, (which worked flawlessly) the two, no longer, members of the committee reported to the board.P. the Company’s Writers, that on the night of the award, would have been, mentally, at the side of the Henry By to whose memory they wish to devote this year’s event. The final result will be announced simultaneously with the award of the prize, at a special ceremony in October.
