Greece, welcoming young and old with separate stories.
Days 22 – 25 December and 29 December – 1 January, over 70 well-known writers, singers, actors, journalists and librarians declare this to give voice to their favourite christmas books, and to support the National Library in the new beginning.
Works of Andersen, ΓκÏιμμ and Dickens, folk tales, short stories of Papadiamantis and the Kontoglou and the modern stories come to life through public readings of personalities of letters and the arts.
At the same time, in the same space is placed until 15 January 2017 at the Wishing Tree of the Network of Greek Libraries. This is the result of 100 Laboratories of Wishes that took place in libraries and schools throughout Greece with the coordination of the National Library.
The action inspired thousands of children to construct original wishes for the new year utilizing words from excerpts of books.
